How do you know whether this is a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.surfsupdental.com\/emergency-kids-dentistry.html\">dental emergency<\/a> or not?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s important to pay close attention to your child\u2019s symptoms in this situation. Over time they simply grow tender, which is why tooth sensitivity isn\u2019t necessarily abnormal. They\u2019re composed of several different layers and have a squishy center where the nerves are located. The outermost layer is enamel, making it your tooth\u2019s first line of defense against bacteria and uncomfortable sensations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If the enamel becomes compromised by damage, the <em>dentin<\/em> layer will be more exposed. Since it\u2019s softer and closer to the nerve cluster, the result is sensitive teeth. Similarly, delicate dental roots can become vulnerable when gum disease causes the gumline to recede.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Oral Infection<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>An oral infection is more or less what it sounds like. Bacteria build up or other complications can cause harmful infections, which in turn create alarming symptoms such as facial swelling or fever.
